I believe there are loads of people out there just like me: Tired of seeing the inequalities that exist and doesn’t mind sacrificing a few luxuries to see a change happen - no matter how small. So if you are one of those people, please contact me via email.

This is the UK charity homepage of SOS Children, the world’s largest orphan and abandoned children’s charity. Child sponsors and donors worldwide provide a new family and home for more than 70,000 children in 473 unique Children’s Villages in 123 countries. Our supporters also help a million children and their families through SOS community outreach programmes.

Our strategic goal for the next eight years is to help a million child sponsors give a million children a family life. Of these, one hundred thousand will be given a new family and home in an SOS Children’s Village and nine hundred thousand will be able to grow up within their own (or extended) family with our support.

SOS Children… giving children a family for life.

Our sponsors and donors help children whose parents are not there for them. They may be AIDS orphans, street children, child soldiers or children orphaned by war, poverty or natural disasters. We give these children a mother and a family in a home within an SOS Children’s Village. Donations pay to build the Villages and run them until child sponsors cover the running costs. It has been a great 2 years working with PaM and she is looking forward to building the Robin Hood Project in Mancora and globally.  

Nov 10, 2009: Hispanica Spanish School - The third stage of  Robin Hood Project kciks off. Hispanica Spanish School, which is due to launch Dec 01 2009, is the first step in making Robin Hood Project Mancora self-suffcient.  Hispanica will allow tourists  not only to learn spanish in Mancora but also help the community. Hispanica will donate 30% of profit to Robin Hood.

May 25, 2009: Leticia - El Puente joins Robin Hood. With a successful fundraising event, we are now able to extend our hand to the school El Puente, and welcome another 15 children to Robin Hood. 

May 09, 2009:  Masquerade Party - SOLD OUT! A brilliant night. Our fundraising event  raised enough money to run Robin Hood Project for the next year and a half.  The cost of running this event was zero. A special thanks to all the people that made this possible: Andrew Eadie, Ed McDermott, Isobel Dacombe, Jamie Breck-Peterson, Malcolm De-Vela, Marc Redmond, Marie Vagen, Michael Doherty-Harding, Natalie Menser, Patsy Cole, Rebecca Baker, Sarah Campion.

February 24, 2009: Our website is completed. We might make a couple of changes but you will be able to navigate.

February 16, 2009: Our website is being uploaded in an “under construction” mode.

February 2, 2009: We identified that some of our children do not have the basic literacy skills and started our first literacy program. This involved 1 to 1 classes 3 times a week for 4 children. 3 of these are now at the standard level of all Robin Hood children. We will continue to rotate the children within the project on the literacy program to allow them to benefit from 1 to 1 tutoring which they don’t get at home.
